Manila Dragon Boat

The Dragon Boat season race kicks off with the 2nd Manila Dragons Cup 2008 at the picturesque 10-hectare man-made lake of The Lakeshore in Mexico, Pampanga last February 24, 2008.

Competing in the event are various university-based, civilian, and military dragon boat rowing teams from Manila, Camarines Sur and Boracay, Aklan, including the Philippine Navy men’s crew and the Philippine National Police women’s crew, both winners from the First MD Cup in 2006.

The dragon boats team’s strength and stamina were definitely put to test as the 2.5 kilometers race course consists of several turns set in the heavy waters of The Lakeshore’s man-made lake.

In the end Team Camarines Sur took home the much coveted Manila Dragons Cup.
